About Us
Our History
After eight years as the Torrent Lounge nightclub, we reached out to the community to find out if there was any interest in The Recher Theatre returning. The response was overwhelmingly clear. You wanted it back! Paul Manna of 24-7 Entertainment is rejoining forces with Brian and Scott Recher to bring back one of Maryland’s most beloved showrooms, the former Recher Theatre, which will now simply be known as The Recher. Despite being in the middle of a pandemic, we renovated and remodeled one more time. But this time we wanted to build back the parts of The Recher Theatre that we all loved. The Recher will also include numerous upgrades in the form of a new stage, refurbished restrooms, sound and lighting improvements, new dressing rooms and catering from neighboring restaurant Towson Tavern. We reopened March 19th 2021 for socially distanced shows, but we're looking forward to the return to full capacity! To learn more about The Recher, visit our website by clicking here. |
We opened the Recher Theater in 1999 as a mid-sized concert venue in the heart of Towson. The Recher Theater has had many big and small name acts come through its stage. You may even remember our old marquee as it was a Towson landmark for quite some time.
We find in conversations around the bar that everyone tends to have a favorite memory or story about the Recher Theater and these sentiments warm our hearts. In the time leading up to the close of our beloved Recher Theater, we struggled to book the bands that would help us cover the cost of operations. As the situation grew, we decided to change the venue and image of the Recher Theater. With this in mind, we remodeled, updated, and opened the Torrent Nightclub to replace the former Recher Theater. |
